Camp Instructor Top Message The Lifelong Learning and Workforce Development department is seeking a Camp Instructor. This is a part time seasonal/temporary position. Job Summary:The position of Camp Instructor innovatively delivers organized and engaging camp activities to youth to enrich camper knowledge of concepts and career pathways. Creates and follows curriculum lesson plans. Maintains camp documentation and data. Works collaboratively with the Camp Coordinator and Camp Assistant. Exhibits professionalism as a role model. Adheres to SCF policies and procedures. Ensures a healthy and safe camp environment and assumes overall responsibility for classroom management. Job Description Applicants may be asked to demonstrate any or all of the following duties: 1. Develops and delivers organized and engaging camp curriculum through activities to youth. 2. Works collaboratively with the Camp Coordinator and Camp Assistant to prepare and maintain facilities, equipment and supplies for camp activities and maintaining documentation of inventory to accommodate class sizes. 3. Creates a fun camp experience for youth full of designing, interacting, inventing, communicating, and problem solving, while gaining valuable teamwork skills. 4. Assists the Camp Coordinator in meeting camp goals, coordinating experiential learning such as field trips and guest speakers, prioritizing the health and safety of campers, promoting the camp program, and evaluating each week's success through debriefings. 5. Serves as a problem solver regarding classroom management issues that arise, including but not limited to camper disciplinary remediation or health/safety issues, maintaining an efficient, smooth-running schedule with minimal unscheduled interruptions. Reports issues to the Camp Coordinator and provides feedback regarding all camp activities. 6. Performs other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications · Education/Experience:Associate’s degree from a two-year college or university and experience with K-12 curriculum. Preferred Qualifications · Supervisory Experience:Experience in coaching, advising, and mentoring preferred.
